As we prepare to say goodbye to 2021, I want to thank everyone who has helped the library in some way over the past year.
There are the usual guesses - the library’s staff team, Board of Trustees, Friends group, and Foundation. Then there are the folks who don’t always get recognized for their contributions to the library. The City Council and Town Board members who support our annual budgets. The Sunday volunteers who make certain this place is available to use seven days a week. Folks who visit with us daily, weekly, monthly, annually—it’s always good to see you whenever you take the time to stop by. Those who donate their gently used items for the book sales and our top-notch book sale team who spend hours organizing and displaying the new arrivals. And we can’t forget all the people who shop those sales, too. There are the people who donate to the library and send encouraging notes and cards. People who drop extra change they get back from making photocopies into the jar on the counter. Those who decorate the building, both inside and out, to keep it looking great. And there are so very many more. We’re grateful for every one of you.
If you’re planning a visit this week, don’t forget our holiday hour changes. We’re open 9am-1 pm on Friday, December 31 and closed through the weekend. We’ll be back at it on Monday at 9 am. Come see our new dinosaur display in the children’s area and let the kids try out this week’s I Spy for a chance to spin the prize wheel. Then join us on Wednesday, January 5 from 1-4 pm for the first Friends Book Sale of 2022. Happy New Year!
