Newspaper Column for February 4, 2020

February is turning into a busy month at the Caestecker Library. Our Road to the Oscars film events will continue twice a week all through February: on Tuesdays at 6 pm and Thursdays at 1 pm. We are showing Harriet this week. Next week will be Ford v. Ferrari with the ever-delicious popcorn donated by Guth’s Candy Shop.

In local news, Thrasher Opera House will welcome Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn for two performances this Saturday, February 8th.  In collaboration with this visit, on Thursday, February 6, we will be showing Bela Fleck's documentary, Throw Down Your Heart in the lower level of the library. There will be some conversation and snacks to kick off the show at 11 am.

We are also starting something new this month: Stay & Play sessions! Come relax with your child(ren) and meet new friends during this unstructured playtime especially for young ones. This playtime is recommended for infants through preschool-aged children. We will have coffee from Sassafras and light, kid-friendly snacks from 10-11 am every second Tuesday and every fourth Saturday of the month. On Tuesdays, be sure to stay for Story Time at 11 am! If you want any details or would like to follow the events we have, like us on Facebook or check our website at greenlakelibrary.org.
