Newspaper Column for November 28, 2019

A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours from your friends at the Caestecker Public Library! We are truly grateful for all the combined efforts of the Library Board of Trustees, the Friends of the Caestecker Public Library, and the Library Foundation. We are also deeply grateful for you! And everyone who visits with us at the library just to say hello, to check out items, to use the computers, enjoy programs, and be part of this village of caring people. It’s truly amazing.

The library will be closed today to give thanks with friends and family, and back at it at 9 am on Friday, November 29. We have the best Black Friday deals of all—all items are free with your library card.

Looking ahead to Saturday December 7th, it’s our annual Breakfast with Santa!

There are all sorts of things happening at the library that morning – The Friends are having their cookie sale ($7 for a one-pound box of assorted goodness), a book sale, the CPL Knitting Group will be selling handmade items, Tia the reading therapy wonder dog would love to hear your favorite Christmas stories, and the aforementioned breakfast with the man in red. For $3 a person you receive pancakes cooked to order (regular or chocolate chip), applesauce, beverage, and a seasonal treat. Plus a chance to whisper your wishes in Santa’s ear. Breakfast runs from 8:00-10:30, the cookie sale will go on until there are only crumbs left, and the book sale will last until noon. All the activity will be in the library’s lower level.

Watch for movies and crafts and a little holiday fun in the weeks to come. I hope we see you soon!
