January 3rd Newspaper Column

Welcome to 2019!

We are starting the new year off right with the return of Thursday Morning Conversations (every Thursday at 10:00, with coffee from Sassafras and nibbles of some sort). Pat Dobrinska’s adult art students have their annual show in the large main level conference room this month. Crossroads Market is sponsoring the library as its first Rooster Round Up Program recipient of 2019. And we are just a couple of weeks away from the return of the “Road to the Oscars” movie nights at the library!

There will be an artists reception for Pat Dobrinska’s students on Tuesday, January 8th, from 5-6:30 p.m. Come meet your talented friends and neighbors and see what marvelous things they have created. This show always inspires me to pick up a paintbrush. Maybe someday I will create something worthy of display…

Middle and high school students who could use a bit of help with math homework are reminded that the library offers free tutoring with Ms. Bethann every Thursday from 5-6:30 p.m. She’s a former high school math teacher, so you know she understands both how to do the math and how to help young people learn to do it. We are so pleased she is here every week, and hope to be able to offer this service for a long time to come.
