Time for the Fair! The Green Lake County libraries are once again holding a story and craft time at the County Fair this morning (Thursday, August 2) at 10:30. I hope you can join us. And if you need a place to cool off or connect to the Internet or just get some (relative) peace and quiet, remember we're just a block west of the fairgrounds.
While you visit the Fair, keep an eye out for a couple of displays. The Friends of the Library will have information and books to give away, per usual. And this year, there is a Green Lake County Reads display, too (also featuring giveaways). Green Lake County Reads is featuring the book The Crops Look Good by Wisconsin native Sara DeLuca. It’s a memoir, mostly in the form of family letters, of life on a farm in western Wisconsin during the first half of the twentieth century. All the county libraries are hosting events surrounding the county-wide read, most all of them in September. And the author herself will be visiting in early October. Pick up a schedule of events (and maybe even a free copy of the book!) at the fair and make plans to read along with us this fall.
