August 7th Newspaper Column

They came, they ate, and they were merry.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by last Sunday as the library celebrated twenty years in our Hill Street building. Guess we’ll have to do it again in five years for the silver anniversary, right?

This week we are looking forward to the Art Fair and the Friends Summer Book Sale, both Saturday and Sunday. Our friendly book sale volunteers will kick things off bright and early Saturday morning (doors open at 8:00 a.m.) and will still be smiling late Sunday afternoon when everything wraps up at 4:00. We have many, many books, audio books, DVDs and VHS tapes, puzzles, and even framed art prints for sale. Whether your tastes run to vintage and rare books or the latest bestsellers, we have you covered. Hours for the book sale are Saturday 8-4:00 and Sunday 10-4:00. Come check it out!

And here’s a quick preview peek at next week’s topic – Rebekah Weiss from Aves Wildlife Alliance in Neenah is coming back to the library with some of her birds of prey. Her owl program last September was our all-time best attended program (150 people!). This year she’s focusing on hawks and falcons. Save Tuesday evening, August 19th on your calendar.
