May 15th Newspaper Column

Have you caught “Wheel Fever” yet? In honor of Bike Week, the library is pleased to welcome author Nick Hoffman for a program tonight (Thursday the 15th) at 6:30. Nick co-wrote Wheel Fever: How Wisconsin Became a Great Bicycling State last year for the Wisconsin Historical Society Press. We’re looking forward to stories from the high wheel bicycle days on forward. A book signing will follow Nick’s’ presentation.

Saturday brings an opportunity for dressing up (or not) and having tea (or lemonade) and goodies at the library. Our friends Peter and Jill Hennes are throwing us a tea party beginning at 1:00 p.m. There will be treats and stories and activities to enjoy. A donation is asked to benefit the Friends of the Library. Reservations are requested at 294-3572 so we know how much food to prepare. I hope you will join us.

The summer blockbuster books have started arriving and will continue to come in over the next couple of months. There is a very good chance your favorite author is coming out with a new book very soon. Keep up with all the latest library acquisitions online at
