September 6 Newspaper Column

September is such a busy month! Not only do we get real holidays, like Labor Day and Rosh Hashanah and Constitution Day and the autumnal equinox, but a boatload of crazy days – like National Cheese Pizza Day (September 5), Chocolate Milkshake Day (September 12), Play-Doh Day (September 16), and - my personal favorite – International Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19. We’ll have a kid’s program for that one!

August 30th Newspaper Column

Labor Day Weekend is upon us. Whether you are celebrating with a barbeque, running the Green Lake Half Marathon, enjoying pancakes at the Legion, or squeezing in one last mini vacation before back to school, I hope you have a safe and enjoyable holiday. The library will be open as usual (9-1:00) on Saturday, September 1, but closed on Sunday and Monday. Librarians and volunteers want to get in on some of that fun, you know. We will be back at it on Tuesday the 4th at 9:00 a.m. we will look forward to your tales of adventure.
