February 16th Newspaper Column

Library Lovers month continues, and the first thing we’re loving this week is you! Thanks to everyone who braved the frigid temperatures and biting wind to make last weekend’s book sale a success.  Together you helped the Friends raise $1160 for library programs and materials.

Some of you received the Friends’email newsletter over the weekend – we hope you liked it. Our goal is to put out these short updates every few weeks to keep folks informed of upcoming events and current with other library news. If you did not receive a newsletter and would like to be in on future editions, please call the library at 294-3572, sign up online at www.greenlakelibrary.org, or send an email to director@greenlakelibrary.org

Curious about other things to love this week? Well, we have another Oscar-nominated movie screening Thursday at 6:30 – this time it’s a civil rights era story that is based on a hugely popular book. The movie has been nominated for four Academy Awards, including best picture, best actress, and two best supporting actress nods.

Our knitters group continues to meet the first and third Monday mornings of every month at 10:00, and they always welcome new members. Last time they met there was so much laughter coming from the room I was looking for an excuse to go back and join them myself. (Of course, I’d have to run out and buy some knitting needles first…) They meet again this coming Monday, the 20th.
