Another Harvest Fest book sale successfully completed, another round of thanks from the library. This year you helped the Friends raise over $3800 for the weekend. Many thanks to those who donated books, puzzles, movies, and more to making the sale a success. Thanks, too, to everyone who came and shopped for the cause. And special thanks to our fleet of volunteers who put in so many hours organizing, pricing, and selling items at these book sales. Your combined efforts equal more books, movies, and programs for library users year round. We are tremendously grateful.
We’re still celebrating the harvest here at the library. Tonight (Thursday, October 3) at 5:00 we welcome KC Simmers for a seed saving workshop, plus an opportunity for local gardeners to share stories, photos, recipes, and tips from this year’s garden. We’ll ask those who participated in the inaugural year of our seed library for their notes on the varieties we had available for “checkout.” And we’ll be looking for input on ways to make the seed library bigger and better in 2014. All garden enthusiasts are invited, and yes, there will be garden-themed refreshments.
