The Summer Reading Program wraps up in style next week. Let me highlight some of the special events we have planned:
Monday, July 29 brings Zoozort at 10:00 a.m. Noelle Tarrant and her wonderful wild animals were here last year and were such a hit that we asked her to come again. Furry, scaly, or feathered, you’re sure to like them all.
Tuesday evening magician Great Scott will be at the library with his Magical Archaeology Adventure. This family-friendly program kicks off at 6:30. Bring everyone – it’s going to be a great show.
Wednesday morning, July 31, is our last craft program for the summer. Andrea Briese and her mom Jan have been our wonderful Wednesday artistic volunteers, and I am grateful for their help. Stop in at 10:00 that morning and let your creativity shine.
Thursday, August 1 finds me out at the Green Lake County Fair for an 11:00 story and dance time. (No, I’m not dancing. Katie Hazlewood will be teaching the kids some steps. I’m just going to stay out of her way and clap.) Thursday is also the final day to earn rewards for reading as part of the summer program. Kids who have been participating in Fang’s Reading Program need to turn in their baseballs and ticket order. Those who have been playing “Ribbiting Reads Bingo” or becoming reading stars should turn in their last completed game sheets.
Our thanks to the Green Lake County Fair Committee, Pizza Hut, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Baseball club, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and Cave of the Mounds for donating prizes for our readers this summer. We would also like to thank the Friends of the Caestecker Library for sponsoring many of the special performers we had visit this summer.
Speaking of the Friends, I would be remiss if I failed to mention that they have a book sale coming up on August 10-11. There are LOTS of great items for the sale. You won’t want to miss it.
