Happy Independence Day!
Although the library is closed for the holiday, we’re back open bright and early (9:00) Friday morning, with a story time for the kids at 10:00 and a very special author appearance at 1:00 p.m. James O’Brien visits at that time to talk about his book History 1, Cubs 0 - A Historical Perspective of the Chicago Cubs Championship Drought. Baseball fans and history buffs alike will enjoy this event. Following his presentation Mr. O’Brien will hold a question and answer session, then sign copies of his book.
Coming up on Monday the 8th we have a morning double header. First comes Pint Size Polkas, a program that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Music and dance (yes we’ll be learning some moves) at 10:00. Then our favorite snake Fang, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers mascot, will be here to meet and greet fans at 11:00. Kids up to age 13 are encouraged to join Fang’s Reading Club and earn a free ticket to the August 15 Timber Rattler game at Fox Cities Stadium (Appleton).
Tuesday, July 9th brings another pair of programs. At 3:30 p.m. the Constant Reader Book Club will be discussing James Patterson’s seasonally-appropriate 4th of July. That evening at 7:00 we are pleased to welcome Dave Ehlert back to the library with a new program: Abe Lincoln, Mark Twain, and the Civil War.
And local favorite Becky Andersen is our July Artist of the Month. Be sure to stop by and see her colorful work on display in the meeting room.
