Next week is National Library Week, and we hope you will stop in to help us celebrate. Culver’s is in on the celebration, too, sponsoring their annual Library Week book-themed coloring contest for kids up to age eleven. If the young people in your life haven’t yet picked up an entry sheet, bring them by. Entries are accepted through April 20th, and every participant receives a coupon for a free scoop of frozen custard. Yum!
Lest the grown-ups feel left out, we plan to have contests for those over age eleven, too. Sharpen your guessing strategies and put on your thinking cap – you may turn out to be a winner.
National Library Week coincides with the Week of the Young Child, so we’re having a special story and easy craft time for preschoolers on Thursday morning, April 19th at 10:00. Other program highlights that week include the knitting group, Lego Club, Tuesday night movie, and a fabulous concert. We are eagerly anticipating the return of the Fox Cities Swing Band on Saturday morning, April 20th. Details on that in next week’s column.
Spring seems a bit slow in putting in her annual appearance, but luckily book publishers aren’t swayed by the weather. We have lots of terrific new titles in and more on order. Find your favorites under the “What’s New” tab on the library’s web page – www.greenlakelibrary.org
