November 29 Newspaper Column

Thank you to everyone who has donated items to the food pantry and the quad-county diaper drive in the past couple of weeks. The diaper drive continues through November 30, while we accept items for the food pantry year round. If you’re looking for other ways to give to the community this year, please consider participating in the angel tree program (our tree is in the lobby) or donating your time or treasure to the library.

Our favorite holiday event happens bright and early this Saturday morning – Breakfast with Santa. We’ll have the doors open at 8:00, the pancake griddle will be hot and so will the coffee. Here’s your opportunity for a yummy breakfast (pancakes, applesauce, beverage, and sweet treats) plus a chance to visit with Santa and share your wish list. Breakfast is $3 per person, with the proceeds going to the Friends of the Library.

While you’re here for breakfast, check out the Holiday book sale in front of the fireplace. We’ll also have boxes of assorted homemade Christmas cookies for sale at $5 each. And we always love it when you check out books and movies and music from the library – because we love to see you smile.

After visiting the library, head on over to Town Square for crafts and activities and more all weekend long. December 1st promises to be loads of fun for everyone!
