The library is pleased to serve as a cooling center for the community during this long hot summer. If you know of anyone who needs a safe place to cool down during the heat of the day, please send them our way.
When we were planning events this summer, we thought we would be showing movies on rainy afternoons so the kids would have something to do. While we’ve considered offering rain dance lessons instead, we have settled for showing movies on afternoons when it’s just too hot to do anything outside. This will be done on a day-by-day basis, whenever the meeting room is available and the temperature is unbearable. Call the library to find out what’s playing and when – we’ll try to start the films by 1:00 on these steamy afternoons.
Our final featured performer for the summer reading program is Truly Remarkable Loon, Wisconsin’s favorite juggler. Yes, that is really his name. Loon’s program begins at 10:00 Monday morning. There will be crafts to go on Wednesday and another story time on Friday, too. Kids who are working toward earning a ticket to the August 23 Timber Rattlers game have until July 31 to turn in their reading log baseballs.
