Due to "technical difficulties" (more likely operator error on my part), last week's newspaper column did not arrive to the paper in time for printing. Here's what it was meant to be:
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the library and shopped our Scholastic Book Fair. We really appreciate all the support we receive, and are excited to add many new titles to the children’s and teen sections through your efforts.
We’re signing up kids 13 and under for the library’s summer reading programs. Yes, programs. Baseball fans will want to join Fang’s Reading Club and earn a ticket to a Timber Rattlers game and other cool baseball-themed prizes. There’s also our regular summer program with special performers, craft days, story times and opportunities to earn fun items. And all participants need to do is 1) read and 2) visit the library. Best of all, our summer programs are free.
The library will be closed on Independence Day. Hope to see you downtown for the parades and fun and fireworks! We will be open as usual the rest of the week.
