We have a full slate of programs coming up, so I'm going to jump right in.
We have a fun, science-y family program lined up for you this weekend. Wisconsin’s Frog Guy, Randy Korb, will be at the library on Saturday, June 16th, for a 1:30 p.m. presentation. And yes, he will have some little hopping critters along. Since Saturday is also the Summer Solstice celebration and the day of a young angler fishing tournament, we hope you will plan to spend the day in Green Lake. Refreshments will be provided (once again) by the Friends (think gummy frogs…)
Kids that have been bitten by the acting bug will want to register for a free acting workshop presented by members of the Missoula Children’s Theatre Company. “What if?” is the question, and workshop participants will use imagination and creativity to answer it in performance. This free workshop will be held at the library on Tuesday afternoon, June 19th at 1:00. Call the library to reserve your place at 294-3572.
Our favorite furry Reading Specialist (Rusty!) will be at the library on Wednesday afternoon for 20 minute read and cuddle appointments beginning at 3:00. Reading with Rusty is an excellent way for kids to keep those skills sharp over the summer. She will be here in July and August, too.
Wednesday also kicks off our Scholastic Book Fair. Loads of terrific new books for babies through adults will be on offer. Proceeds from the sale will be used to enhance the children’s and teen collections. There’s an online component to this year’s sale, with many additional titles to choose from. Find it through the library’s online calendar of events at www.greenlakelibrary.org . We hope you will stop in to shop and support the library and Green Lake area youth.
