March 22nd Newspaper Column

It’s officially Spring! And among other things, that means it’s time for something fun. The Friends are filling that need for us this week with a Spring Surprise mini book sale, Thursday (today) only, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. We heard from so many folks who were unable to make to the February sale, and have received so many wonderful donations, that we thought it was worth giving this a try. Stop on by – the back door will be open – and check out the wide array of books, movies, puzzles, and more. Remember, it’s three hours only.

After missing last week (darned viruses!) movies are back tonight as well. We’ll be screening the Oscar winner for best adapted screenplay. It stars George Clooney, is set in Hawaii, and garnered a total of five Academy Award nominations. We’ll start at 6:30.

In addition to Deb Cieliesz’s felted critters, the library is hosting a display of 100 years of Girl Scouting through the end of this month. Please take a few minutes to check out the lobby cases on your next visit.

And a final item of note: State Representative Joan Ballweg is holding a listening session at the library on Friday morning from 9:00-10:00.
