As we head into the home stretch of Library Lovers Month (better known as February), we have a plethora of programs for you. Here are the highlights:
Thursday at 6:30 we continue our “Road to the Oscars” film screenings with a movie that’s been nominated for best picture, best director (Terrence Malick), and best cinematography. Brad Pitt and Sean Penn star.
Friday the public school kids are off, so we will show one of the Oscar-nominated animated films at 10:00 a.m. Curious? It’s about a dashing cat, who also appeared in the Shrek movies…
Sunday afternoon we welcome Mark Twain (a.k.a. Dave Ehlert) to the library for an afternoon of stories from his life and from his books. Expect to laugh a lot, and realize how the “big things” in life haven’t changed all that much since Twain was writing. This program is made possible through the generous support of the Caestecker Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library. The fun starts at 2:00.
And since we get a bonus day this February, our friends at the Goose Blind thought we should make the most of it by having a fundraiser for the library. Whether you prefer to eat out for lunch or dinner (although on this particular day, I recommend both!), we hope you will choose to head to the Goose Blind. A portion of the Leap Day proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Library, earmarked for buying new books and music and movies. Please join us there for good times and great food on Wednesday, February 29.
