I hope everyone made it through the polar vortex safely. And I really hope we don’t have another one anytime soon!
The weather caused some schedule adjustments – most notably of the genealogy research workshop we had scheduled for Monday, January 6. (Good news for me, as I had forgotten to mention it in last week’s column.) Weather permitting, the three session series will begin on Monday, January 13th at 1:00. These workshops are good for both beginning and experienced family researchers, and are presented by the Dartford Historical Society and the Caestecker Library.
If you find yourself with extra time in your schedule (perhaps formerly filled by football?) and need some ideas – may I suggest the library’s Constant Reader Book Club? This month they’re reading Kate Morton’s 2008 novel The Forgotten Garden. The group meets on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30.
