Dear Sir:
My name is Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury and I am a journalist, columnist, author ,editor and peace activist. On completion of my masters in journalism, I joined Itar-Tass, state news agency of Russian Federation as its correspondent. Later I was promoted to the rank of Chief Correspondent. In 1996 I joined as the Special Correspondent of leading English language daily The New Nation. In 1997 I joined as the CEO and Managing Director of A-21 Television. In 2001 I joined vernacular daily Inqilab as its Special Correspondent as well the CEO and Managing Director of ITV.
Presently I am working as the Editor of Weekly Blitz (English taboid) and editor-in-chief of vernacular weekly Jamjamat. I am also working as the Chairman of Sonali TV.
In 2003, I was arrested by the Bangladesh government for my campaign against the Islamist radicals and for supporting peace in Israel. You can get more information about me from www.freechoudhury.com website. Also please note that I am an active member of PENUSA and this year they have announced to award me with the Freedom to Write Award for my contribution towards courageous journalism.
I have authored three vernacular books so far, and my next book named 'Nights and days of nightmare' will be published early next year.
I am interested in placing my name for your prestigious award. On hearing from you, I shall submit some of my write ups for your kind consideration.
Please let me know your kind reply in this regard.
With Profound Regards
