Over the past few days we have been encouraged to spend, spend, spend. Today is a day to think about giving back.
Giving Tuesday was created by a coalition of nonprofit groups a few years ago as a sort of antidote to the over-the-top retail promotions we are bombarded with this time of year. A day to pause in our shopping to remember the good work done by charitable organizations every day of the year.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We are thankful for everyone who supports the library in so many ways every year – behind the scenes or out front, with time or talent or treasure, every week or once a year we are grateful to you all.

A week before Thanksgiving and food is definitely on our minds at the library. We’ve gotten in some great looking new cookbooks in the past couple of weeks, the holiday baking books are being checked out in quantity, and the poster is already up for Breakfast with Santa. Yikes! To help us keep our waistlines under control, we’re turning to Danielle Krueger, clinical dietician with CHN. Danielle is presenting information on MyPlate on Thursday morning (November 20) at 11:30.
