Calling all coffee lovers! If you haven’t made it to one or more of our Thursday Morning Conversations this summer, you’re really missing out. Terrific coffee courtesy of Sassafras (thanks Carrie!), a variety of donuts and other nibbles, and lively conversation centering on a different topic each week. Today (Thursday, September 3) our guest is Green Lake Rotary President Mark Shipman. Later in the month we’ll hear from school superintendent Ken Bates, organic farmer extraordinaire Danielle Boerson, and city Public Works Director Glen McCarty. Please make plans to join us.
This morning (August 27) we welcome Joe Norton as our guest for Thursday Morning Conversations. Don’t miss this opportunity to talk with Joe about wooden boats and whatever else he has in mind. Coffee and donuts available, as always. The fun starts at 10:00.
We are celebrating the humanities this week at the library. Well, to be fair, we do that every week. But there are two programs on Thursday that really drive that home.
First off, Lauren Norton and Linda DeNell (Green Lake’s resident children’s book enthusiasts) bring their choices for great kid reads to the Thursday Morning Conversation. There will be lots of show and tell along with two highly opinionated librarians’ discussion of the importance of reading to children. And coffee and donuts, too!
