There are so many things to celebrate – Easter, spring break, the Badgers making it into the sweet sixteen, weather that should eventually get back to 40 degrees… And library programs, of course!
First a bit of schedule housekeeping – we will be open 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Good Friday, same as usual (again, 9-1:00) on Saturday, and closed on Easter Sunday. Stock up on reading, listening, and viewing items early.
Both schools are on spring break from Thursday afternoon through April 3rd, and we have special events happening to help fill those leisure hours.
A very happy St. Patrick’s Day to you. We’re going green in a slightly different fashion this morning, as our guest for Thursday Morning Conversations is Dick Slavik, one half of the “Your Gardeners” team. Dick is coming to talk about when and how to best prune your trees. Join us in front of the fireplace for coffee, donuts, and conversation.
Green Lake County now has a bird monitoring kit available for groups to check out from the Caestecker Public Library. Developed by the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology and the Wisconsin Bird Conservation Initiative the kit contains 15 pairs of binoculars, a spotting scope and tripod, five copies of Birds of North America field guide by Kenn Kaufman, an educator’s guide with suggested activities, and other bird identification literature. The bird monitoring kit is suitable for use by scouts, 4-H, school, and adult groups, and will check out for up to one week.
