Attention all Do-It-Yourselfers who are also beer enthusiasts: we’ve got a program tailor-made for you this Saturday morning. Join Jody Cleveland and Lee Reiherzer, members of the Society of Oshkosh Brewers, for an Introduction to Home Brewing and a sampling of “Caestecker Red Ale” beginning at 11:00. It’s the perfect DIY lead-in to that afternoon’s Brew Fest at the Heidel House. Jody and Lee will share tips, tricks, and stories from their years of home brewing hits (and maybe a few misses). It’s going to be great.
After an interesting run of Tuesday night film screenings we’re taking a week off because I will be attending the Public Library Association conference in Indianapolis. We’ll get back to movies on March 18th.
We have some great new books for your reading pleasure in the meanwhile. If you haven’t checked the display table lately you’re in for a treat. New mystery authors, new series by favorite authors, new entries in well-loved series, new narrative nonfiction, new (and hilarious) picture books – no matter your preference we have something you’ll love.

Have you made your predictions on which pictures, actors, and production teams will win big at the Academy Awards Sunday night? We always have a friendly competition at home to see who correctly predicts the most winners. My son almost always wins, usually by a lot.
We will continue to show nominated films on Tuesday evenings at the library while interest lasts. Next up (on March 4) is 12 Years a Slave.
