December 4th Newspaper Column

It’s that magical (and tasty) time of year! Come celebrate at the library this Saturday, December 6th.

We’re hosting Santa Claus for breakfast on Saturday morning between 8:00 and 10:30. Regular and chocolate chip pancakes, applesauce, beverage, and a sweet treat are on the menu – still at the low price of just $3.00 per person. Santa will be ready to hear your gift requests, pose for a photo, and even read a story or two.

Giving Tuesday

Over the past few days we have been encouraged to spend, spend, spend. Today is a day to think about giving back.

Giving Tuesday was created by a coalition of nonprofit groups a few years ago as a sort of antidote to the over-the-top retail promotions we are bombarded with this time of year. A day to pause in our shopping to remember the good work done by charitable organizations every day of the year.

Thanksgiving Newspaper Column

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We are thankful for everyone who supports the library in so many ways every year – behind the scenes or out front, with time or talent or treasure, every week or once a year we are grateful to you all.
