Thank you to everyone who donated, worked, and shopped the Friends Spring Book Sale this past weekend. With such excellent support the friends raised over $1000 that will come back to the community in the form of programs and library materials and scholarships at Green Lake High School. The next sale comes up in a few months, and we accept donations every day the library is open, so if you aren’t quite finished with your spring cleaning keep the Friends in mind. Gently used books, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, and puzzles are always appreciated.
Bargain hunters, rejoice! Garage sale weekend is upon us, and the Friends are celebrating by extending the spring book sale to two days. Early birds can shop on Friday from 10:00 to 3:00 and then they reopen (as usual) from 8:00 to 4:00 on Saturday. There are boatloads of great deals to be had on books, audio, and puzzles – many of which have been donated in just the past few weeks.
We have one more Money Smart Week event for you tonight (Thursday, 4/23), courtesy of Katie Gellings, UW-Extension Family Living Educator. “Credit and Debt: Making it Work for You” is the order of the evening. Find out about credit scores, what constitutes good debt or bad debt, and strategies for getting on top of your finances. There’s a Money Smart display up, too, in the space just recently vacated by the tax forms (we may have to start calling it the money table).
