This morning (Thursday, June 4th) we kick off a new program at 10:00 that we’re calling Thursday Morning Conversations. It’s an opportunity to sit down with local folks and discuss issues of interest to residents and visitors alike. We’ve invited elected officials and musicians, the heads of nonprofit organizations and teachers, artists and businesspeople. Green Lake Mayor Jon McConnell has graciously agreed to be our first guest. We’ll have coffee and donuts, and we’ll meet in front of the fireplace for about an hour.
We’re starting a new program at the library next month, and you’re invited. We’ll even have coffee and donuts to sweeten the deal. It’s called “Thursday Morning Conversations” and our plan is for it to be just that – an hour to sit down and talk with a different local guest every week. We’ll have local elected officials and artists, business people and teachers, musicians and heads of non-profit groups. Think of it as your opportunity to get to know some of the most interesting people in the Green Lake area.
We have a bumper crop of new books this week – I just added sixteen new adult fiction titles, four new adult non-fiction titles, and seven movies to the collection this morning. Lots of shiny new things to check out and enjoy! There are about ten new picture books, a couple of children’s novels, new children’s and student nonfiction books, and some teen novels that will be on the shelves by the time the newspaper is published this week. So, no matter your age or interest, there’s probably something new for you to enjoy at the library.
