Yedda

Yedda is one of the new question and answer sites.  It offers a slick design, the ability to ask any question you like, the ability to answer any question you can, and the chance to browse through answered questions and learn things yourself.  Again, I see that librarians and libraries especially in larger communities could very successfully offer this type of service on their websites.

Tasha, thanks for the review, I'm glad to hear you like Yedda!

As for your idea of integrating Yedda into library web sites, I feel the same, I think it'd be an excellent match. It also would be very easy to do using the Yedda widgets (http://yedda.com/widgets) - the librarian in charge would be getting first shot at the question, while still enjoying the benefit of the knowledge provided by the larger community.

Also, you could use Yedda's active question distribution to define just how much each member of your stuff can handle - each one of them can have their own area of expertise and their own limit on the number of questions they think they can handle per day, week, etc.

You're most welcome to contact me directly if you'd like to further investigate this possibility.
