Proud to be an ideological librarian

From Library Link of the Day comes an article that is definitely worth reading.
Rich Lowry: The ideological librarians focuses on the leftist leanings of the library profession. Though he despairs of ALA and the belief in civil liberties that libraries stand for, he only managed to remind me of exactly why I was drawn to be a librarian. He does say that libraries have "always been the bulwarks of civilization." Yes, and we still are. Which is probably why librarians realize more than many others why the abridgment of civil liberties is something to be alarmed about.
