First off, a big “thank you” goes out to the folks who stopped by the library last Saturday and shopped the book sale – you helped the Friends raise $800 in six hours. Wonderful! Their next sale is the big one August 8th and 9th – during the County Fair and the Fine Arts Fair. You’ll have lots of choices for things to do that weekend.
Hold onto your hats, folks. Summer has arrived in a big way with programs at the Caestecker Public Library.
This morning (June 11) we welcome Laura Deming as our Thursday Morning Conversations guest. Laura is serving as Interim Director of the Green Lake Festival of Music, but that’s just one of the hats she wears. She’s a cellist with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and founded the Pine Mountain Music Festival, among many other accomplishments. Join us for some musical conversation, coffee, and donuts around the fireplace beginning at 10:00.
This morning (Thursday, June 4th) we kick off a new program at 10:00 that we’re calling Thursday Morning Conversations. It’s an opportunity to sit down with local folks and discuss issues of interest to residents and visitors alike. We’ve invited elected officials and musicians, the heads of nonprofit organizations and teachers, artists and businesspeople. Green Lake Mayor Jon McConnell has graciously agreed to be our first guest. We’ll have coffee and donuts, and we’ll meet in front of the fireplace for about an hour.
