You donated, you came, you shopped - and the Friends Spring Book Sale was a smashing success! We are so grateful for the support we receive from you. Thanks to your generosity the Friends now have another $1900+ to give back to the library in the form of programs and materials.
Our May Artist of the Month is Susan Anderson of Grand River Pottery. Look for Susan’s work on display in the case across from the checkout desk. Her ceramics are organic and very cool.
Well, the big news this week is the Friends Spring Book Sale. If your Saturday is completely booked with garage sales and the first ever Green Lake Bird Festival, don’t despair. The Friends are offering a special preview sale on Friday from 12 noon until about 3:00! No secret passwords required.
If you are among the lucky folks who receive their paper on Wednesday afternoon, have we got a great idea for your Wednesday evening! Bill Jamerson, the musician/historian/filmmaker who visited here last spring with his songs and stories of the CCC Camps, is returning to the library. This time around lumberjacks take the spotlight. “It’s Daylight in the Swamp” will celebrate the hardworking men of the northwoods. Bill’s program is tonight (April 24) at 6:00. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
