Hold onto your hats, folks. Summer has arrived in a big way with programs at the Caestecker Public Library.
This morning (June 11) we welcome Laura Deming as our Thursday Morning Conversations guest. Laura is serving as Interim Director of the Green Lake Festival of Music, but that’s just one of the hats she wears. She’s a cellist with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and founded the Pine Mountain Music Festival, among many other accomplishments. Join us for some musical conversation, coffee, and donuts around the fireplace beginning at 10:00.
This morning (Thursday, June 4th) we kick off a new program at 10:00 that we’re calling Thursday Morning Conversations. It’s an opportunity to sit down with local folks and discuss issues of interest to residents and visitors alike. We’ve invited elected officials and musicians, the heads of nonprofit organizations and teachers, artists and businesspeople. Green Lake Mayor Jon McConnell has graciously agreed to be our first guest. We’ll have coffee and donuts, and we’ll meet in front of the fireplace for about an hour.
We’re starting a new program at the library next month, and you’re invited. We’ll even have coffee and donuts to sweeten the deal. It’s called “Thursday Morning Conversations” and our plan is for it to be just that – an hour to sit down and talk with a different local guest every week. We’ll have local elected officials and artists, business people and teachers, musicians and heads of non-profit groups. Think of it as your opportunity to get to know some of the most interesting people in the Green Lake area.
